This was not my week! I could not get home for three days! I was getting frantic, terribly thirsty and soooo hungry.

After the suet incident, I decided to try a short [very short or so I thought] adventure in the woods across the road. Big mistake. I had a hankering for squirrel or mouse which sounds easy enough. Started out well and I know lots of the paths in the woods from previous visits.

Then I saw him! A great big, tall male cat hiding in the woods. He had been showing up at our place stealing food and bothering the girls. Truckey [my brother] and I had chased him away several times.

And now this big intruder and I were sizing each other up. For two days and nights the fight went on. He had height but my lower- to- the- ground- self had an advantage because he could not knock me over.

By the third day I was exhausted and knew I could not give up until I chased this pest away! I was finally able to corner him in the crook of some tree roots and managed to scare him pretty good. He finally slunk off to the north, away from our place.

The boss was happy to see me but concerned that I was hurt; nothing much, just a scratch that looked worse than it was.

And then paawsitively the last straw was when I discovered my sister Marina Mow Mow,[see photo above] had moved into my #2 sleeping place. We all have our assigned cabanas at the base of the caragana trees. These are carefully chosen for our specific needs. Some have gazebo like roofs, others are open in front. Mine has an excellent view of the yard and it is raised up on a thick bed of leaves.

After seeing the Boss on the day I returned, I was already feeling very disgruntled and meandered over to my special place. I mean I have it just right: long enough to really stretch out, overhang protection from the rain or too much sun, secret stash of cat crunchies; it’s the best!

To my annoyance Marina Mow Mow was already in there napping! How dare she! That is the well- known resting place for Logo Panda! I mean really! Who does she think she is?

SHE WOULD NOT MOVE. I stared, growled, hissed, jumped on her a few times but she was really settled in there. I lay down in the doorway ready to charge in as soon as she moved.

After a very long wait, I conceded defeat and too tired to wait anymore, went to my other favourite spot by the boss’s door. I was exhausted from three days of stress, and lack of food! So much for saving my energy to look good as Logo Panda!

Publishing/Creating Mews:

The Boss wants to thank everyone for their support and interest in her work. Two publishers have been turned down because of their terms.

The Poetry Collection will have about 30 poems, each with an illustration. Each poem and drawing takes about a week to create.

Pawsing for now,

Panda
